There are times when face-to-face classroom instruction does not make everything clear for you. I understand that! I really do! Therefore, I have provided you with a list of online resources that may help you with understanding a concept, provide additional practice & support, or allow you to brush up on concepts that you may need to review. Please use these resources to your advantage!!! Below you will find the link to the resource and it's overview.
Algebra.help - This website contains lessons on topics that include equations, simplifying, factoring, distribution, and trinomials, as well as equation calculators and worksheets. This site also has an extensive list of math resources and study tips.
Coolmath.com - An online supplemental website that offers "math for ages 13-100" with explanations that are easy to grasp on topics like Algebra. Students click on the topic needed for review and Coolmath offers step-by-step examples of each topic.
Math Planet - Math planet is an online resource where one can study math for free. Take our high school math courses in Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. They have also prepared practice tests for the SAT and ACT. The educational material is focused on US high school maths and provides line-by-line instruction on Algebra I topics. Students have to know which subheading their topic falls under, but the table of contents is easy to navigate and is user friendly.
iXL - iXL is an online resource that has a list of all of the skills students learn in Algebra 1! These skills are organized into categories, and you can move your mouse over any skill name to preview the skill. To start practicing, just click on any link. IXL will track your score, and the questions will automatically increase in difficulty as you improve! Students are not able unlock all options without a subscription, but they can get a lot of practice from the free practice!
Purplemath.com - Online pre-algebra and algebra lessons grouped by level of study. Lessons are practical in nature informal in tone, and contain many worked examples and warnings about problem areas and probable "trick" questions.
MathHelp.com - Originally an online resource for home-schoolers, this site offers opportunities for students to practice particular concepts for free in an interactive manner. **Please Note** To access the complete lessons you must pay a fee. I am only recommending the FREE option for supplemental aid!
AAA Math - Triple A Math has numerous interactive arithmetic lessons. Topics covered include addition, counting, comparing, decimals, equations, estimations, graphs, fraction, multiplication, and more. This is a great site for building foundational skills that may been missed (or forgotten) from grades 6 - 8.
Algebasics - This site has video tutorials explaining the basics of algebra, equations, ratio and proportion, absolute value, polynomials, factoring, linear equations, radicals, applications, and much more.
Algebra-Class.com - This website is similar to an online classroom and offers help with solving equations, graphing equations, writing equations, inequalities, functions, exponents, monomials, polynomials, and the quadratic equation. It also has a list of resources.
Interactive Mathematics - This website has a large section on algebra, including information on factoring and fractions, the quadratic equation, exponents and radicals, systems of equations, matrices and determinants, and inequalities.
